The Goal
In class together, we asked ChatGPT to come up with a prompt for a high end fashion brand using a series of questions. Using the information the AI gave us, we were able to formulate ideas and sketches of possible logo designs for this fake brand.
Concept Development
My final logo developed from my initial sketches by having cleaner lines and solidifying my font choice. I envisioned which font I wanted while I was sketching my ideas, and after many different attempts I finally decided on the font I wanted, as well as the shape of the dress inside the letter M.
Design Choices
I wanted to keep my design simple yet elegant, which is what the AI wanted. I looked at a lot of logo examples from different magazines and liked the idea of a dress shape hiding within the letter M for Maison. I knew I wanted to go with a serif font for my design, but it was tricky figuring out which one to use. The font I ended up using for the type is Filosofia, and I hand made the M myself. For the colors, I went with a simple purple color since it symbolizes royalty and richness.
Brand Fit
Simple, elegant, and high end. This brand is supposed to target those who can afford high quality gowns and other fashion items. I wanted the logo to look rich and clean.
Usage Scenarios
This logo would be used on shopping bags in the store, outdoor signage, and maybe even on the outside window of the store. Additionally, I envision this logo being on robes and other fashion items that the employees wear.
